Sub Genres

Sub Genres in thrillers:



Psychological:
Psychological Thrillers main focus is on the mental and emotional states of the characters. It plays on the audiences minds and produces suspense in the film as it reflects on the character’s mentality.

Political:
Political thrillers usually includes the main protagonist ensuring the stability of the government. They are set up against a backdrop of political power struggle. Political corruption, terrorism, and warfare are common themes of a strong political thriller.



Tehno:

Techno thrillers have elements of science fiction.thrillers,spy,action and war. They include a disproportionate amount of technical details on its subject matter to science fiction films. Conspiracy thrillers usually overlap with the techno thriller genre.

Spy:
Spy thrillers mainly have elements of action, deal with the subject of espionage, either in a realistic war or as a basis for fantasy. Spy films usually use government agencies,either real or fictional, as the main base of the film. Spy thrillers include themes of escapism, and sometimes combines the genres of action and science fiction.

 Supernatural:
Supernatural thrillers bring in otherworldly elements into a film mixed with tension, suspense and plot twists. Sometimes, the protagonist and/or antagonist have some sort of supernatural powers. Supernatural thriller films can also include paranormal elements.

Conspiracy:
Conspiracy thrillers are the sub genre of which the protagonist confronts a large, powerful group of antagonist whose true motives are recognised by the protagonist. Narratives are similar to what might be found in a detective story.

Crime:
Crime thrillers focus on the criminal/s of the crime,rather than the law. Main topics of crime thrillers include serial killers/murders, robberies, chases,shootouts,heists and double crosses.
